You may or may not have heard about it just yet… in fact this review might be one of your first real learning experiences with such a company. Let me tell you that it’s notoriously famous “dating” sites on the Internet… and one of the most successful.

Why Does It Exist:

Videos will be posted to let you decide for yourself, but it exists for some key reasons according to the CEO Noel Biderman.

1. Monogamy is not in our DNA - It’s scientifically proven that monogamy is not in our DNA… it’s actually societal rules that have placed them there. Noel believes that marriages today break up so often because of the enormous stress this causes on a relationship. More on it later.
2. Protecting the singles dating sites – If you’re in a marriage or if you’ve been together with somebody for a long time, going to a singles dating site to flirt and meet somebody puts them into a terrible situation when after you’ve been together… you reveal you’re married.
3. It actually acts more like a form of positive therapy – Noel mentions that many of his over 3.86 million members do not go through with actually meeting somebody. But they get to use the site to talk to other women who feel as currently unsatisfied as they do with their marriage. Through these conversations true feelings for their married partner come to surface.

It’s all very interesting, but I for one am glad that a site like this does exist because whether you agree with it or not… affairs are going to happen… they’ve been happening since man and woman have existed and they are going to continue to happen.

So why not have a safe place where people in that situation can get together and meet. It’s creates less risk for them… less risk for their friends and families… and who knows, eventually it can even save the marriage altogether.

Here Are the Main Criticisms:

It’s Advocating Adultery: I am going to play both sides of the ball and let you decide on this one… Yes and no. Yes indirectly it is advocating adultery. After all having a place where you can meet somebody who is already in a marriage is kind of saying go ahead and cheat.

However, and I think the perfect metaphor for this is a condom. Everybody today is for condoms because they promote safe sex and you can’t stop people from having sex… so that’s why condoms are so good right? Makes pretty good sense to me.

Well is this not exactly the same? If somebody in a terrible marriage where getting out would be the most awfully difficult thing ever… and they have committed to having an affair… well they are going to have an affair. To say this shorter, you can’t stop people from having affairs so you mind as well have a place where they can meet and keep it private.

Sounds just like the condom message too doesn’t it?

They are Tearing Families Apart: This one I completely disagree with. Again it goes back to the point that if you’re in a terrible marriage… one that will be living hell to get out of… then you’re going to have an affair. After all, you want to be a little happy right?

Well you’re going to do that whether Ashely Madison exists or not. This site did not create infidelity… it’s giving a safe place to go for those that are going to do it anyway. So therefor it is not tearing families apart… the only things that tear families apart are bad (unhealthy) marriages.

One last comment and I’ll let you watch some of the videos… that are mostly negative, but it does reveal the short sided nature of the media to jump on bandwagons… I think these videos actually makes the media look terrible.

I keep saying that Ashley Madison is giving couples a place to have an affair in private. And you might be thinking… well… if I disagree with this… they should be brought to light. But think about how unfair it is to be placed in the middle of somebodies affair.

You stay loyal to your friend who you know is having an affair and you don’t say anything to their partner. It wares on your and your relationships… it’s actually quite unfair and that should not happen. And that’s why keeping an affair private from everybody is actually healthy… it’s going to be kept private regardless… why not save your friends and acquaintances the pressure and agony of keeping your secret.

Hi Darren,I don’t know if you remember me, I am the one from Argentina.
